Dementia in Czechia: Prevalence Estimations Until 2050

Introduction: The Czechia is facing population aging. number of people with dementia increasing. Conflicting conclusions European studies confirm the difficulties quantifying disease. Aims: We aim to estimate in until 2050: a) projecting prevalence using rates from EURODEM and EuroCoDe studies, b) based on mortality tables individuals living dementia. Comparing both approaches estimation. Methods: conducted a literature review. projection socio-demographic health variables; construction life for Results: According results dementia; over 300,000 seniors aged 60+ will suffer by 2050; estimating dementia: men women 65+ was estimated at 120 thousand. Conclusions: Czech society not prepared this intense increase argue early diagnosis as well appropriate social care are urgent.
